My Proctor Silex coffee-maker of many many years died suddenly and so I went online to see what was available for a reasonable price. This Black & Decker DLX1050W does the trick, although it’s a bigger machine than my old one and doesn’t quite fit in to the spot I had the old one in. But it works great and is easy to use. Four stars instead of five because of its height, and the fact that the top hinges at the back, enclosing the grinds and water, not just the water.

I will never buy a Black and Decker product again. Second defective product in 3 months.
Poor customer support – rude agent on the phone. Had product less than 2 months old but they will charge me for a “Warrantee Charge” to exchange. You gotta be kidding! Never again…

After reading numerous reviews for coffeemakers under $50, I decided to purchase this one and am very pleased with it. It is reasonably-priced, well-designed, very easy to use, works quickly, doesn’t leak at all. If I worked for Consumer Reports, I’d say that this is a CU Best Buy. The only minor drawback is that its cord is rather short.

After several other popular brands of 12 cup programmable coffeemakers failed to live up to my expectations, I decided to try a brand I had only associated with power tools. Black and Decker make good tools and they make the easiest to use coffeemaker I’ve ever owned. This is very simple to program, the LED clock stays lighted all the time, the lid closes tightly keeping steam from escaping to damage wood cabinets, the water window is large and easy to read,the cord is fairly short and can be pushed out of sight in the back of the case, and it makes a great cup of coffee. The price was good at $29.99, and, if it will just last a long time, it may well turn out to be my favorite coffeemaker of all! It’s available in black or white to suit your decor and does not hog counter space, so is great for small kitchens. I’ve had mine for about 6 weeks and really have no complaints.
